About Me

Hello, I’m Tracey

I’m a Clinical Psychologist who provides neurodiversity-affirming psychological assessment and therapy for adults. I have experience working across a range of mental health settings, including private psychology clinics, university settings, forensic mental health and schools. I have a particular interest in Autism, ADHD and other neurodivergent presentations, whether formally diagnosed or suspected.

I approach both assessment and therapy from a neurodiversity-affirming and social model of disability perspective. This means I don't see neurodivergence as something that needs to be fixed, but as part of the way a person experiences and interacts with the world. I also recognise that difficulties don't exist in isolation and can be influenced by environments, expectations and the demands placed on us.

In assessment, I aim to create a collaborative process where your experiences and insights are taken seriously and explored alongside other sources of information. I have experience conducting psychological assessments across a range of areas, including Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disability and Learning Disorders, with a particular interest in adult Autism and ADHD assessments. I am especially interested in presentations that may have been overlooked or masked over time, and in helping people make sense of the ways they have adapted to navigate a world that may not always fit their needs.

In therapy, I work with adults experiencing a range of concerns, including difficulties related to neurodivergence, burnout, anxiety, sleep, life changes and other mental health challenges. I draw upon approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed approaches and mindfulness, adapting these to the individual rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. I value practical strategies, but also recognise that understanding what is happening and why can be an important part of therapy.

Whether you are seeking assessment, therapy, or support to better understand your experiences, I aim to provide a space that is compassionate, respectful and non-judgemental. I see myself as an authentic and patient psychologist, and I value taking the time to understand the person behind the concerns they are bringing to therapy or assessment.

I hold a Master of Clinical Psychology (with Distinction) from Western Sydney University and a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from Australian Catholic University, where I was awarded First Class Honours. I am an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). I have also undertaken specialist training in Autism, ADHD and trauma-informed approaches to therapy.

Before becoming a psychologist, I worked as a registered nurse, with experience in oncology, palliative care and mental health nursing. This background has given me an additional perspective on the ways physical health, mental health and life circumstances can intersect.

Outside of psychology, I enjoy anything creative, particularly drawing, painting and crochet. I am also a nature and animal lover and enjoy spending time with my pets.
